Casey lives in Evergreen with his wife Sunny and their three dogs, Ryder, Mamba, and Enzo. Most days you’ll find him somewhere on a trail with a group of dogs, a pocket full of treats, and a truck that smells like pine needles and wet paws.
Hi Country Hounds started pretty simply: a lot of time on local trails, a lot of time with dogs, and the realization that the right outdoor routine changes everything for them.

Every member of the trail crew is expected to read dogs, manage the group, know the trail, and keep the whole thing calm, structured, and fun.

Monica brings a strong trail background from years of running and mountain biking around Evergreen, plus extensive hands-on experience with dogs and a natural ability to read pack dynamics.
Calm, attentive, and very good at helping new dogs settle into the rhythm of the group.

KASEY

Kasey has a degree in Animal Science from Texas Tech and years of hands-on experience with horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, peacocks, and dogs of every shape and size.
He owns horses, has two off-leash-trained farm dogs, loves exploring new trails, and is extremely comfortable being responsible for animals with terrible judgment.

RYDER TEST.
Ryder is Casey’s seven-year-old Black Mouth Cur, original trail dog, and the dog who helped inspire a lot of what Hi Country Hounds became. He’s traveled coast to coast, spent two months in Mexico, and logged more trail miles than most people we know.
After a new hound’s first one-on-one hike, Ryder is often their first hiking companion before they join a bigger pack.
He’s especially good with dogs who are shy, nervous, unsure around other dogs, or whose humans never really thought of them as a “group dog.” He gives them space, stays calm, and quietly shows them that hiking next to another dog is really not that complicated.
