Casey - Founder & Lead Hiker

Casey lives in Evergreen with his fiancée Sunny (Owner of Oracle Mountain Cleaning, and Volunteer Firefighter with Evergreen Fire) and their three dogs Ryder, Mamba, and Enzo. Most days you’ll find him somewhere on a trail with a group of dogs, a pocket full of treats, and a truck that smells like pine needles and wet paws.

Hi Country Hounds started pretty simply. I’ve always loved hiking these trails, and I’ve always loved dogs.

After years of exploring the Evergreen foothills with my own crew, I started realizing how much better dogs do when they get real outdoor time, structure, and the right group of hiking buddies.

Trail Crew

Hi Country Hounds has grown into a small team of experienced hikers who share the same approach to dogs, trails, and pack dynamics. Every member of the trail crew understands how to read dogs, keep groups calm and structured, and make sure every hike is safe, balanced and fun!

Monica - Lead Hiker

Monica brings a strong trail background from years of running and mountain biking in the foothills around Evergreen. She has extensive hands-on experience with dogs and a natural ability to read pack dynamics on the trail. Monica is often out leading hikes and helping new dogs settle into the rhythm of the group. Outside of Hi Country Hounds she works in healthcare, bringing the same calm, attentive energy to both people and dogs. Her steady presence helps keep hikes smooth, balanced, and fun for the whole pack.

Kasey (with a K) - Trail Crew

Kasey has a degree in Animal Science from Texas Tech and has spent years working hands-on with just about every animal you can fit on a farm. He’s cared for horses and cattle to pigs, sheep, goats, peacocks, and dogs of every shape and size. These days, he has two off-leash-trained farm dogs of his own, owns/rides horses, loves exploring new trails, and is very comfortable being responsible for animals with terrible judgment.

Small crew. BIG trail miles. Questionable amounts of dog hair. We know the dogs, know the trails, and take getting them safely exhausted very seriously.
