THE INVITATION-ONLY
OFF-LEASH SOCIETY.
About 96% of HCH hikes are on leash. A small number of established Trail Club dogs may earn invitations to specific off-leash crews on specific legal trails.
Eligibility starts only after at least three prior HCH hikes, and then requires excellent recall, calm trail manners, real-world tests, guide approval, and the secret handshake. Three hikes make a dog eligible for consideration, not automatically cleared.
Cool club. Serious safety. Off-leash access is never guaranteed and can change anytime based on the dog, crew, trail, wildlife, conditions, or guide judgment.

Is Trail Club a subscription?
No. You buy 10 or 20 credits once and use them as needed. There is no recurring monthly bill, and the credits never expire.
Can a brand-new dog join?
Absolutely. Every new dog starts with a solo First Hike. If you join Trail Club first, that hike simply uses the first credit from the pack.
How do I book with credits?
Book the service normally and select Don't Pay at checkout. We deduct the correct amount from your household balance so you are not charged twice.
Can my household's dogs share a pack?
Yes. Choose the correct one-, two-, three-, or four-dog household tier when you buy. The pack covers the dogs included in that household.
Do I have to use credits every week?
Nope. Use them weekly, sporadically, or in a glorious burst of holiday survival. They stay put until you need them.
Does membership guarantee off-leash hiking?
No. It only creates a possible path to eligibility. Most hikes stay on leash, and invitations depend on prior hikes, testing, recall, trail manners, conditions, and guide approval.
Can I use credits for boarding?
Eligible established HCH dogs can use credits for boarding when space is available. One dog is 2 credits per night; two dogs are 3 credits per night.
Is there a referral perk?
Yep. When a friend you refer joins Trail Club, both households get a free hike. Their dogs can discuss who deserves the credit.
What if I want to try one hike first?
Book a standalone $45 First Hike. If your dog immediately becomes a trail person, you can join Trail Club afterward.
