Most dogs are away from home for roughly 2–3 hours, including pickup, safe transportation, trail time, and return. The mountain part is ours to handle.

You do not need to be home if access is arranged. We pick up your dog and their crew along the route.

FIRST, WE LEARN
YOUR DOG.
If you are home, we meet briefly before heading out for a 45–60 minute solo hike. If access is arranged and we skip the meeting, your dog gets a full hour on the trail.
We learn their pace, confidence, handling, trail manners, comfort in the vehicle, and what future crew will bring out their best.
Adventure without pretending safety is boring

SERIOUS STANDARDS.
About 96% of our hikes are on leash. We use small crews, secure vehicle setups, active trail management, and guides who make decisions for the dogs in front of them, not for the photo.
A small number of established Trail Club dogs may eventually earn invitations to specific off-leash crews on specific legal trails after prior hikes, real-world testing, excellent recall, calm trail manners, and guide approval.
Secret handshake required. Off-leash access is never guaranteed. Wildlife, conditions, trail rules, crew makeup, or guide judgment can put the leash back on at any time.

How long is a regular hike?
Regular hikes include a full hour minimum on the trail and plenty run longer. Dogs are usually away from home for roughly 2–3 hours including pickup, transportation, trail time, and return.
Do I need to be home?
No. If access is arranged, we can handle pickup and return while you work, ski, run errands, head down the hill, or enjoy having mysteriously fewer responsibilities.

What if my dog needs to hike alone?
Every new dog starts solo, and ongoing solo hikes are available for dogs who need their own pace, space, or dedicated mountain staff.
How are crews chosen?
We consider personality, comfort, pace, size, energy, handling, trail style, and existing relationships. The goal is compatibility, not filling seats.
What happens in bad weather?
We hike year-round and in plenty of weather. Safety still wins. Routes, timing, distance, or plans may change when conditions require it.
What does it cost?
A standalone First Hike is $45. Regular dog hikes are $55. Trail Club packs start at $465 and offer our best pricing for regular hikers.
How do I start?
Book one First Hike or join Trail Club immediately and use credit one for that first solo adventure. Both paths begin with us learning your dog.
