YOUR DOG.
Every new dog begins with a real solo hike. If you’re home, we meet briefly and then head out for 45–60 minutes. If access is arranged and we skip the meeting, your dog gets a full hour on the trail.
We learn their pace, confidence, handling, trail manners, comfort in the vehicle, and what kind of future crew will bring out their best.

No trailhead handoff. No rearranging your day around us. We pick your dog up at home, get them safely loaded, and head out.

Crews stay at four compatible dogs or fewer and are matched around energy, confidence, personality, and trail style. We want dogs who actually make sense together, not whoever happened to be free at 10:00.
Every new dog starts solo. Some dogs keep hiking solo, while others graduate into the crew that fits them best.

Real mountain trails, a full hour minimum on regular hikes, typically 2–3 miles, and an absolutely unreasonable number of things to smell.
You can follow along with live GPS, and every adventure comes with trail photos and a short report.

EVERYONE ASKS.
DO I NEED TO BE HOME?
Nope. Most clients aren’t. Just give us the access instructions and we’ll handle it.
WHAT HAPPENS ON THE FIRST HIKE?
It is always solo. If you’re home, we meet briefly before a 45–60 minute hike. If access is arranged and we skip the meeting, your dog gets a full hour.
MY DOG IS WEIRD AROUND OTHER DOGS.
Also normal. We can start one-on-one and build from there if that’s the better fit.
HOW LONG ARE REGULAR HIKES?
A full hour minimum on the trail. Plenty of hike days run longer, and crews typically cover 2–3 miles depending on terrain, conditions, and the dogs.
ARE THE DOGS OFF LEASH?
Nearly every HCH hike stays on leash. Off-leash crews are an advanced Trail Club option for select dogs after at least three prior hikes, recall and trail-manners approval, the right trail, and the secret handshake.
WHAT ABOUT SNOW?
We live in Colorado. We hike year-round and adjust the trail, pace, and plan to the conditions.
