Casey lives in Evergreen with his fiancée Sunny (Owner of Oracle Mountain Cleaning, and Volunteer Firefighter with Evergreen Fire) and their three dogs Ryder, Mamba, and Enzo. Most days you’ll find him somewhere on a trail with a group of dogs, a pocket full of treats, and a truck that smells like pine needles and wet paws.

Hi Country Hounds started pretty simply. I’ve always loved hiking these trails, and I’ve always loved dogs. After years of exploring the Evergreen foothills with my own crew, I started realizing how much better dogs do when they get real outdoor time, structure, and the right group of hiking buddies.

Trail Crew

Hi Country Hounds has grown into a small team of experienced hikers who share the same approach to dogs, trails, and pack dynamics. Every member of the trail crew understands how to read dogs, keep groups calm and structured, and make sure every hike is safe, balanced and fun!

Monica - Trail Crew

Monica brings a strong trail background from years of running and mountain biking in the foothills around Evergreen. She has extensive hands-on experience with dogs and a natural ability to read pack dynamics on the trail. Monica is often out leading hikes and helping new dogs settle into the rhythm of the group. Outside of Hi Country Hounds she works in healthcare, bringing the same calm, attentive energy to both people and dogs. Her steady presence helps keep hikes smooth, balanced, and fun for the whole pack.

Rob - Trail Crew

Meet the Crew Behind the Trails

Casey - Founder & Lead Hiker

Rob is a long time friend of Casey’s and recently moved back to Colorado after spending many years living and traveling in Thailand. He’s always been a big dog person and quickly fit right in with the Hi Country Hounds pack. Rob spends a lot of time out on the trails with the crew, helping keep hikes relaxed, structured, and moving at a good pace. He brings an easygoing, adventurous energy that dogs respond to right away. Whether it’s a long trail day or a quick sniff break along the way, Rob makes sure the dogs have a great time outside.

Mike Bogner - Trail Crew

Bogner has been a close friend of Casey’s for more than 15 years, which means he’s been around the dogs, the trails, and plenty of questionable adventure ideas for just as long. A military veteran and serious outdoor junkie, he’s usually bouncing between cycling, snowboarding, skiing, hiking, and bikepacking. He’s been a longtime dog owner, and his dogs and Casey’s have basically grown up as best trail buddies. Bogner fits right in with the Hi Country Hounds crew and the pace of a good mountain hike. The dogs quickly figure out that when Bogner shows up, it’s going to be a pretty good day on the trail.

Life on the Trail

Every Hi Country Hounds hike is built around small groups, calm pack dynamics, and the kind of mountain adventures dogs were meant for. Most of our days are spent exploring the forests and trails around Evergreen and Conifer, giving dogs the structure, movement, and outdoor time that helps them feel balanced and fulfilled. Whether it’s a first hike or a regular weekly adventure, the goal is always the same: safe trails, happy dogs, and a group that feels like a pack.
